Football time SAINTS fans!!! 12/6/2009
Sitting here at 7:00am - got up with Sheri, made the coffee and saw her off to work. Got my Jersey on, ready for some football! The New Orleans Saints travel to Washington today to do some scalpin'!! Brees was on fire last week as he picked apart the New England secondary and drove home a SOLID victory. Today should push the Saints new franchise record to 12-0. I can't imagine the energy flying around the Super Dome these days - ashame this is an away game.
Assuming I come home in better shape than the previous 2 weeks, I plan to get some work done on my '65 beetle restoration. You can follow the assembly notes at www.my65bug.com. Weaved in there somewhere I will also get the house back in order and finish some Christmas decorating, and get to mass. Sundays have become pretty busy lately.
So get your beer in order, don that jersey if you have one and get your TVs tuned at 1:00pm central time and cheer for 'DEM SAINTS! |
I live for days like this!11/30/09
First off, I had a productive day at work (Sheri will probably laugh that I didn't say 'productful'). Tied up lots of loose ends, made a few calls and caught up with my director. Managed to get out to a good friend's shop at lunch to BS about VWs - that's always good. I had been sweating the Saints / Patriots game for most of the week. In my humble opinion, the Saints seemed to struggle against at least three not so formidable opponents. What could I expect when the Brady Bunch rolls into the Dome? I have faith in my Saints, but I expected a tough battle nonetheless.
So I get home just in time to make sure the little bastard middle schoolers aren't trying to run off with any packages. That's a sad story I'll have to tell later! I was glad to see my '65 only distributor had arrived. Emily showed up shortly thereafter and I got my daily dose of brain melt over 9th grade algebra. She complained about reading the Odyssey in English, so always looking for a reason bolt to the book store I headed out when I knew she was comfortable with the rest of her math. I grab an over priced coffee at Borders and read a chapter of this 'thriller' . . . now I understand why my 14 yr. old has a complete lack of interest in it. Or so I say, after reading and re-reading paragraphs I started to get into it.
Back home with an 18 pack of brews, a bottle of Pinot Griggio for my sweety and I am ready for some FOOTBALL! And what a game it was!!!!!
You know how it went by now, but let's say 38-17 is a GREAT way to pick the Patriots apart in the Super Dome! I almost lost my voice, home alone watching picture perfect ass whipping first class! I am sure the neighbors moved me another step up the weird-oh list - I'm OK with that. GEAUX SAINTS! ! ! !
Finished off the evening going up to the Red Rock with Sheri to game for a few hours. Made my monthly $$ deposit to the establishment. No (small) amount of loss can turn this day bad.
WHO DAT?

Easy Breesy!!!

Getting my sh*t together . . .11/23/09
Where to start . . . where does it end? I have been waiting for over 3 years to get my digital identity in order. Went out and signed up with 1&1 web hosting, got unlimited disk space and I was ready to set the world on eFire! Not. In short, life happened . . . and continues to do so. I have helped several friends launch successful web sites but never found time for me. I don't like to code - I hate it. I prefer a CMS - makes life simple and content a breeze to manage. So this is a Joomla site, one of the friendliest, most feature rich systems I have used. Check it out at www.joomla.org
I was never a fan of MySpace. I have come to embrace Facebook, to a degree. I figured I just want to make my own space - gergSPACE. More about where the gerg nickname came from later. I'll be revamping my much-dated site for my '65 beetle restoration also. The current site can be found at www.my65bug.com
So this may turn into a smash up of an over grown blog / facebook-esque site. However, you will NEVER have me ask you to farm some stupid digital field, kill vampires or have a turkey dinner with the mob.
Stay tuned.

Yep, it's gonna be like that . . . |
